ARAMAT
|
|
ARAMAT is a glass + Kevlar?* complex :
??alanced on both warp and weft
??alanced in volume, as the density of kevlar is approximately half of glass.
??echanically bonded with a layer of glass fibre
PROCESS
ARAMAT????is not a product specifically targeted at specialist applications. It has also been designed for use in serial production, both in large or small dimensions.
Use examples : coastguard speedboats, Offshore vessels, motor boats, sailboats, catamarans, trimarans ????
WHY ARAMAT?????
Due to the close bonding between glass and Kevlar and the increased cohesion between fibres, ARAMAT????provides enhanced mechanical characteristics of the laminate.
??obustness, durability, safety.
??mproves impact strength.
Benefits for ARAMAT????include :
??eduction in overall weight structure compared to conventional glass laminate, aluminium alloy and steel due to the lower density of Kevlar?. (weight reduction approximately 6% ????12%).
??ncreases boat speed
??ubstantial reduction in labour (fewer layers).
??dvantages of both glass and Kevlar,
??xcellent compromise between cost and performance.
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
ARAMAT????can be used to produce laminates with optimum mechanical properties, intermediate between those of a glass + polyester resin laminate and a Kevlar? + epoxy resin laminate.
