The Kreyenborg Group will focus on efficient filter and pump technologies at Interplastica 2012, to be held in Moscow, Russia from January 24-27.
Kreyenborg says the trend in polymers production is to replace large area filters with screen changers, bringing benefits such as quicker change of the filter media or shorter residence time of the material in the screen changer. First launched in 2008, the company's special filters of the type POLY are available for throughputs up to 45,000kg/h, depending on material and viscosity. So far, three of such mega systems have been supplied for PET production.
Another exhibit, the Kreyenborg V-type screen changer with power backflush technology, when integrated into sensitive extrusion applications, allows high quality polymers to be produced out of heavily polluted recycling PET material such as bottle flakes. As stated, its backflush system ensures a high screen lifetime and minimal backflush losses.
In addition, Kreyenborg will also present its underwater pelletizing system through BKG Bruckmann & Kreyenborg Granuliertechnik GmbH. According to its press release, a bigger type of pelletizer is being introduced, which may also be used for EPS micropellet production.
Kreyenborg expects that the worldwide demand for EPS, which is at four million tons at present, with one third is processed in Europe, will further increase as the CO2 emission reduction in connection with the heating cost reduction is part of the Agenda 2020, the new economic strategy of the European Union for overcoming the economic crisis.
At present, approximately 70% of the produced EPS pellets are used in the building industry, Kreyenborg reveals. |
