Husky expands Altanium family with launch of Delta3 hot runner controller for two to 128 zones

7/17/2013

New intelligent feature set provides premium functionality for most consistent, repeatable, accurate temperature control possible

BOLTON, Ontario - Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced a new addition to its family of hot runner temperature controllers with the launch of Altanium Delta3TM. Bridging the gap between the functionality of the existing Neo2TM and MatrixTM controllers, Delta3 TM offers an integrated, intelligent platform for two to 128 zones of control and helps customers achieve increased part quality and improved uptime.

"The introduction of Delta3TM to Husky's AltaniumTM family of controllers allows us to provide premium performance and functionality at an affordable price," said Matthew Cummings, Husky's Product Manager for AltaniumTM. "Delta3TM is designed with a new intelligent feature set, which makes it smarter and more intuitive than other controllers on the market. This enables a more customized molding solution, and helps customers achieve the most consistent, repeatable and accurate temperature control possible, regardless of their molding needs."

Simpler and easier to use

Delta3TM is equipped with a variety of enhanced features to improve operational efficiency. An improved, highly intuitive navigation method coupled with a large, full color touchscreen shortens the learning curve for new users and ensures fast and consistent start-ups. Automatic storage and recall of set-ups ensure the same processing parameters are used for a mold without operator intervention. Multilingual support increases user adoption while historical event auditing and enhanced process monitoring enables faster, more accurate troubleshooting.

Highly intelligent feature set

With its more intelligent, intuitive feature set, Delta3TM has advanced monitoring capability to further eliminate the risk of bad parts entering the downstream process. Integrated mold protection prevents material degradation and addresses issues before part quality is compromised to decrease downtime and reduce risk during operation. Real-time power deviation monitoring enables Delta3TM to automatically detect signs of plastic leakage and impending heater failure, mitigating damage to the mold. In addition, Delta3TM has been designed on a platform that supports network connectivity and closer integration with other Husky products for a more complete system, including remote monitoring capabilities using the AltaniumTM dashboard application.

Reliable and economical to maintain

Having one control card for all AltaniumTM models, including Neo2TM, Delta3TM and MatrixTM, maximizes interchangeability and reduces the number of parts to stock and maintain. The integrated control card design maximizes system reliability by minimizing discrete connections and components. AltaniumTM control cards are also simple and inexpensive to upgrade, contributing to lower operating costs while allowing for greater flexibility to grow with changing production needs.

ART for faster, more consistent production cycles

Husky's fully integrated line of AltaniumTM temperature controllers are recognized throughout the industry for accuracy, ease-of-use and flexibility. All AltaniumTM controllers use Active Reasoning Technology (ART), providing optimized control for greater shot-to-shot and cavity-to-cavity consistency and repeatability. ART delivers tighter control and minimized variability through best-in-class power output delivery, fully isolated thermocouple inputs and industry-leading thermocouple sample rates that ensure the integrity of temperature readings.
