At AWFS 2015, Leitz Tooling will demonstrate how heightened connections between tools and their users can enhance productivity.
Among the highlights in the Leitz exhibit will be its contribution to Industry 4.0, a vision in which cyber-physical systems help monitor the production process. Leitz will introduce its new network-capable set of tools, a Visionary Award entry, which are engineered with eApps chips, allowing users to monitor tooling conditions without shutting down production. This will help ensure more consistent processing quality and manage service cycles more effectively.
Leitz engineers also integrated a handling advantage during the development of the new ProfilCut Q Premium. The main and secondary knives can be easily accessed and changed within the tool set (photograph: Leitz) Leitz second Visionary Award entry is the ProfilCut Q Premium, which combines processing speed with easy knife changeover and maintenance resulting in enhanced productivity. ProfileCut Q Premium is suitable for windows, doors, furniture and flooring.
"We've spent the last few years re-engineering our tooling, facilities and development processes to be faster, more nimble and able to respond to the advancements in manufacturing around us," said Mike Lind, Leitz CEO. "Now we're not only contributing, we're leading."
