APHON is committed to excellence in pediatric hematology/oncology nursing practice. This is accomplished by members and colleagues teaching one another current trends and new information, as well as learning from and sharing previous experiences.

From an impromptu meeting of four pediatric oncology nurses in 1973, APON (later APHON) was formed. During the past 30+ years, the organization has grown to encompass more than 3,300 members in the United States, Canada, and around the world.
