Aluminum Wire Type 9215 Series Automotive Branch Connector

Kyocera Connector Products Corporation has developed an aluminum wire type to expand its lineup of the 9215 Series Automotive Branch Connector launched in 1992, which is a longtime seller featuring great workability. The aluminum wire type contributes to reducing car weight and improving fuel efficiency.
The 9215 Series are Branch Connectors designed for easy attachment of additional parts in automobiles with the use of pliers. This product enables the main wire harness to branch into the electrical component side when attaching the additional parts. Any part of the main wire harness is available to branch, which contributes to great workability.
Features
The weight is approximately equal to 60% by using the aluminum wire compare with the same specification of the copper, which contributes to reducing car weight. The 9215 Series aluminum wire type was developed to meet such market needs.
Enables the main wire harness to branch into the electrical component side when attaching additional parts in automobiles. Any part of the main wire harness is available to branch, which contributes to great workability.
The main harness side for the aluminum wire is an IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) type which is designed for easy attachment with the use of pliers. The electrical component side for the copper wire is a crimping type which realizes secure connection.
Applicable wire size is 0.75sq. A wide range of wire sizes such as 0.5sq and 1.25sq will also be available.
Prevents water entry by adopting a cap structure and improving design of the wire entry area for the insulator housing.
