Woonsocket, RI (April 2, 2012) . . . Parkinson Technologies Inc. will introduce an all-new Key Filters screen changer at NPE 2012.
The new KCH screen changer is specifically designed for filtering lower viscosity and elastomeric materials. It joins the Key Filters line of screen changer products including the KCN non-actuated continuous belt melt filter, and the KC line of hydraulically-actuated continuous belt melt filters.
"Low viscosity and elastomeric materials are especially challenging when it comes to melt filtration," said Peter Termyn, President and CEO of Parkinson Technologies. "Despite this, processors demand filtration technology that can deliver high performance, productivity and reliability in a compact, economical package. We engineered our new KCH to meet this application envelope and we're very pleased with the results over a broad range of challenging materials."
The new KCH screen changer uses a programmable logic control (PLC) to monitor the extrusion pressure and quickly reacts to move the screen to keep the pressure constant and uniform. Early testing has shown excellent results, where polymers have been processed from as low as 30 on the shore A scale to 95 on the shore D scale, using the same machine with the same screen.
"We're very excited about this new machine and believe it is a very cost effective solution for many filtration applications," said John Whaley, Key Filters' Business Manager. "The KCH is flexible enough to behave like our KC line, offering instant screen movements on softer polymers, and also offer great performance on harder thermoplastics, like our KCN line." |
