According to a 2011 survey by AILU, the Association of Laser Users, MSS Lasers has come out top for service and support. Based in Rugby, MSS Lasers specializes in the refurbishment of laser cutting machines, service and support for laser users and the supply of nitrogen generation equipment. The AILU survey covered speed of response; reliability of the call out response; expertise of the service engineers; availability of replacement parts; cost of replacement parts; cost of the call out; quality of specialist telephone support; and overall satisfaction levels. In every category, MSS Lasers was ahead of its competitors and in some cases significantly better, especially in the lower cost of the replacement parts it supplies.
The quality of its service is a result of its investment in the very best people, equipment and premises. MSS lasers has recently added five new Service Engineers with specialist experience in Bystronic, Mazak, LVD and Trumpf lasers and is currently looking for two additional engineers to meet increased demand. The company invested in a brand new 16,000 ft2 showroom in March 2010 and added a further 12,000 ft2 to increase its capacity for the refurbishment of lasers and the building of its nitrogen generators in 2011, bringing the number of factory units which the company occupies in the Rugby area to four.
As well as expanding its UK operation MSS Lasers has opened an office in Spain to provide sales and service for the country and has appointed agents for its products in Turkey, Belgium and Italy enabling it to offer its machinery and service Europe wide. It is already achieving valuable results as machine exports are now running at 40% up from 15%. With installations in Australia and China and the potential growth in its European business MSS Lasers anticipates that the value of overseas installations will increase significantly.
The supply of nitrogen generators is an important part of MSS Lases business, and has proven itself to be an extremely worthwhile investment for its customers enabling them to achieve large cost reductions coupled with increased quality and management control through installing the technology. To build on this success, MSS Lasers launched a completely new modular nitrogen generation system which made its debut at a recent Open House at its Rugby headquarters.
New MSS Nitrogen generator module Carlos Gonzalez-Lee, Managing Director at MSS Lasers says, "When we opened our new showroom in 2010, we were investing in preparation for the economic upturn and we anticipated 100% growth within 3 to 5 years. During 2011 our turnover grew by 83% and we anticipate it growing further in 2012, enabling us to achieve our targets in well under three years. Additionally, customer recognition of our service and support values has given us a big boost. We have ambitious plans for growth and with the increase in overseas business, more capacity for refurbishment and a new design of nitrogen generator, we will quickly turn those plans into a reality." |
