"This is a great show, and exactly what the industry needs to help ensure it continues to flourish and develop as quickly as has done till now," said Luc Mastelinck, business development manager, Telelingua, of the second annual Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo, held in Amsterdam from 23-25 June.
More than 150 exhibitors were on display, each showcasing the very latest ideas, concepts, technologies and components for electric and hybrid marine applications. And there was a conference with more than 80 world-leading experts speaking, plus the free-to-attend Technology Demonstration Area that featured more than 20 presentations about the latest and next-generation components and systems. Finally, visitors flocked to view the results of the second annual Electric & Hybrid Marine Awards (click here to view the winners) and to participate in the Open Panel Discussions. In all, the show attracted over 3,000 attendees and 250 conference participants.
"This show has once again exceeded all expectations; our own, and those of the technology suppliers, consultants, shipping companies and ship builders," said Graham Johnson, founder of the show and managing director of the organising company, UKIP Media & Events. "The last three days have been incredibly busy and we've seen business being done throughout the hall as people discover brand-new next-generation technology. We've even had visitors walking off having purchased equipment from an exhibition booth!
"We've bought 50% more space again for next year, and I'm hoping it will be enough to accommodate the 200+ exhibitors that we're expecting. The rate of growth in this new environmentally responsible sector is quite simply astonishing. We're seeing so many new companies enter the market every year, and existing pioneers growing at unprecedented rates. I can't wait to be in Amsterdam again this time next year."
The show dates for the 2016 show are 21-23 June. Exhibition entrance is free, but a conference fee exists. Early booking is recommended to guarantee yourself a seat at the conference. Space is strictly limited and seats are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. |
