ASK, the leader of secured contactless solutions for the identity and transport market, and FAMOCO, the specialist of NFC readers, just announced the signing of a strategic and technologic partnership. It will be announced at the Cards and Payments Asia exhibition in Singapore, 22nd to 23rd of April.
The strategic partnership between FAMOCO and ASK aims at bringing together the competencies and the "know-how" of both companies in order to develop innovative and contactless solutions in the field of public transportation. It means a joint work in the fields of R&D and of technical expertise in order to develop contactless Android devices on the market of public transportation.
FAMOCO, who launched the first secured and remotely managed Android NFC reader to address the B2B market, committed itself with ASK to support the players of public transport and integrators in order to bring next ticketing solution to the market.
As a result of this collaboration, ASK and FAMOCO will present the first NFC reader during the Cards and Payments Asia Exhibition. This new terminal, called FAMOCO FX100+, includes the contactless technology of ASK and enables the development of new enterprise applications and use cases, such as the control and validation of the tickets, debit/credit of electronic wallet or the management of loyalty applications. All of this in a mobility context. FAMOCO FX100+ will be the first Android NFC Reader able to read all contactless transport tickets: A, B and B' types used by Mifare and Calypso standards. The new device will be available in mass production late June 2015.
"The FX 100+ device is an original product which shows the convergence of consumer technologies, such as NFC smartphones, with professional technologies, uses and tools. This new product includes our contactless technology and complements ASK's product line. We can offer in exclusivity innovative solutions to all integrators and major clients in the sector of public transportation and ticketing. By strengthening our links with FAMOCO, we accelerate the market diffusion of NFC professional technologies on our target markets" Maximilien Nguyen, ASK Director for Contactless Acquisitions and Solutions.
"Today the strategic partnership with ASK is a major opportunity to boost on a large scale the development of our reader especially by targeting the transport market worldwide." Lionel Baraban CEO and cofounder of FAMOCO.
